I've tried installing two 32 Meg SIMMs from my Mac including two 4 Meg SIMMs in the other bank and my Color Turbo wouldn't boot. In fact the display was all screwed up (very hard to describe), but the machine purrs along just fine with two 4 Meg SIMMs from another Mac.

HI, I would like to upgrade the ram on my mac mini. It has a 1.25 ghz processor with right now 512 megs of ram. I want to put in a 1 gig chip. I've done this often on pcs and built my own pcs and some for other people as well etc.
My problem here is I don't know what kind of ram to use. The site I believe mentions pc 2700 ram. When I open system profiler this is what I get about the ram. Size: 512 MB Type: DDR SDRAM Speed: PC3200U-30330 Status: OK Manufacturer: Unknown Part Number: Unknown Serial Number: Unknown I am wondering if this means it is pc 3200 ram? Is there a specific brand of ram that is better for macs in particular of course my mac mine? Thanks in advance from a mac newbie.
Click to expand.Create a new identity. If you're not an Entourage user, then it's very quick and easy.
Close all Office apps (including Messenger). Open up Entourage. In the Entourage menu, select 'Switch Identity'. Then click the 'New' button. After it's done, you can quit out of Entourage, and then launch Word. If you are an Entourage user, then you might need to transfer your content from your old identity to your new identity. If you're using an Exchange or IMAP account, you might not need to do anything other than set up your new stuff.

I run office on a MacBook OS 10.5.7. Office was working normally until I installed the 12.2.0 update last Friday. After that, PowerPoint and Excel still worked fine, but Word crashed every time I tried to open it. I searched and searched for help to fix this, couldn't figure it out (and didn't want to pay $50 for microsoft tech support) I uninstalled Office and then reinstalled it. Which actually seems to have caused MORe problems! Now, when I try to open ANY of the office applications, I get a message saying there's a problem with the database.
I rebuilt the database using the microsoft disk utility, and the issue is still unresolved. So I tried to do what you suggested for another person, and create a new identity by opening Entourage, but I keep getting a message that says: This identity cannot be opened with this version of Entourage. I'm at a dead end.
Besides throwing my laptop out the window, do you have any suggestions on how I can fix this?? Thanks, Meghan.
